Abstract

Abstract: Eating disorders are complex conditions that affect individuals both physically and psychologically. Christian spiritual formation offers a unique approach to overcoming this disorder by integrating faith and spirituality into the recovery process. These abstract aims to identify basic criteria for healing eating disorders and to develop how Christian spiritual formation can serve as a useful tool in their treatment. The aim of this research is to identify the basic criteria for treating eating disorders and to explore how Christian spiritual formation can be a useful tool for treating it. Physical criteria include restoring a healthy relationship with food, ensuring proper nutrition, and managing any medical complications. Psychological criteria involve helping with underlying emotional problems, overcoming distorted body images, and encouraging self-acceptance. Spiritual criteria include connecting with one's faith, finding meaning and purpose beyond distractions, and cultivating a relationship with God. The research method used in this research is a library research method that collects and manages data from book sources and journal articles which then formulates the results of the study. Through this research, Christian spiritual formation provides a framework that is in harmony with these criteria with the emphasis on integrating faith, prayer, scriptures, and community support. It offers individuals a sense of hope, as they can rely on their faith to find strength and resilience during the journey of recovery.
