Abstract

The doctrine of Christ's lordship is supremative and affirms that He is the Son of God, the heir of all things, the Creator of the universe. There is a view that Christ is a created being, whereas Hebrews 1 asserts otherwise. He is an example of God's glory and the image of His being, with full authority in heaven and on earth. The purpose of this article is to analyze the doctrine of the deity of Christ based on the Book of Hebrews 1. In examining the Christian deity, the method used in this research is descriptive qualitative, which refers to the study of literature to obtain various arguments and materials to strengthen the construction of thoughts about aspects of Christ's deity, His position above angels, and His role in saving humans as seen in Hebrews 1. The implementation of this theological understanding for the growth of the congregation's faith is outlined in several practical points. First, the congregation's belief in certain salvation is strengthened by the understanding of Christ as the sovereign Lord. Secondly, the understanding of Christ's supremacy encourages believers to live in obedience and true worship, for He is entitled to all praise and honor. Thirdly, believers should rely entirely on Him in every aspect of their lives to demonstrate the power of Christ. This article argues that a deep understanding of the lordship of Christ is essential for cultivating unwavering faith in the lives of Christians.
